This is so important, Johannes, thank you! ~ This video shows how very harmful and deadly plastic waste has on not only ocean life but to the whole eco-system ~ It is people, not the animals, fish or birds, that have created plastic products and people that have been irresponsible in creating the gigantic plastic waste in our oceans ~ There is a giant mass of plastic and waste caught in a vortex in the middle of the ocean that scientist have been tracking for years ..~ May one day the realization of how precious our oceans are to us all ..prevent one more plastic product from being swept away and putting our creatures at sea in harms way ~
Thanks for sharing this important information with all of us, Johannes. Sometimes I am truly embarrassed to admit that I am a human being when deplorable conditions such as this are present and sheerly the result of human hands. 🙁
I am told that there is a “floating garbage dump” in the Atlantic that is about the size of Texas. I have no doubt that much of the trash in the ocean has come from this monstrosity. From what I am told, that is where the eastern seaboard, in great part, dumps their garbage. If true, then it stands to reason that the problem with plastics in the ocean will only worsen with Time.
Sometimes I wonder if we have gone beyond the point where the “human factor” of interference in the ecosystems of the Earth can be repaired……………………..:(
