Bill Moyers: Scott Pruitt Will Make America Great Again for Polluters

A must watch – Bill Moyers discussing the current cabinet nomination of Scott Pruitt as head of the Environmental Protection Agency and its implications.

Scott Pruitt has been a vocal adversary “public enemy #1” against the environment, a climate change denier who has spent much of his time challenging environmental protections and has sued the EPA numerous times on regulations. He does not believe in the science of climate change primarily fueled by human-initiated carbon emissions and the current state of affairs with our global environment.

Do we want, this man, to lead a governmental environmental agency…who has no background in climatology and scientific, health and regulatory experience, who persistently sued the EPA numerous times – who built his political career out of knocking out environmental protections, who rejects the science behind anthropogenic climate change and its consequences, and who himself said during a recent Senate commitee hearing, “his personal opinion on climate change is immaterial…”

Things to know about the warming Arctic – clip from “Before the Flood”

Here is a good vid clip i came across – discussing the effects of anthropogenic-caused climate change and it’s gradual detrimental threats it poses on our planet’s environment…narrated by Dr. Eric Sala, a National Geographic explorer and researcher in oceanic conservation. This comes from the critically-acclaimed documentary, “Before the Flood” created by Oscar-winning actor and environmentalist, Leonardo DiCaprio…a must watch! – highly recommended –

We live in environmentally sensitive times as we lead into the 21st century, having a priority in protecting our ecology is paramount to our future’s potential outcome. There are forces at play currently that may counteract this progress. Please watch and consider quietly to yourself, what will be your own future if we don’t act on this very important issue…our children…grandchildren…

The Wildlife and Food Connection

World Wildlife Fund’s landmark Living Planet Report, a biennial report card of how we’re doing when it comes to protecting our planet from environmental harm, shows a devastating decline in wildlife populations around the world. Wildlife populations are on average, about half the size they were just 40 years ago. One of the main culprits? Food production. Much of the food we buy and consume daily directly impacts wildlife. The video shows some of the ways we can help.

Also, in 2013 a meteor caused by a near Earth asteroid exploded over Russia with no advanced warning ~ It exploded with the force of 20 to 30 atomic bombs but far enough in the atmosphere, 18 miles, to spare lives but did cause over 1,000 injuries. (Reference Wikipedia Chelyabinsk meteor)
These cases, among many others, bring greater attention for the need of an effective international space program to find ways to protect Earth from near Earth objects~
