300 Year Old Food Forest in Vietnam

This is what I believe to be a paradise on earth, Divine Earth — a 300 year old food forest in Vietnam. 28 generations have shared in developing this spectacularly lush environment that not only feeds the family, but provides all the medicinal herbs and plants they need.

  1. This is a wonderful video, Maria, and insight into the close relationship the people of Vietnam have with nature ~ I have a friend who grew up in Vietnam and she has been a source of introducing me to exotic fruits and vegetables that I have never seen before ~ She often brings interesting fresh and exotic fruit and vegetables for lunch ~ She has shared with me memories of some of her favorite trees and gardens from childhood ~

Geoff Lawton made an excellent video bringing the traditions of the amazing ancient gardens to us all ~ Thank you for sharing!

  2. I am very happy to share Coralina. There is so much diversity in nature and the more we share, the more we learn and diversify the wonderful experience we are meant to have while in this life. It’s so beautiful to have friends like your friend, that are so willing to pass on their unique experiences, knowledge & wisdom to the people they care for.

To think that this garden is only 2 acres…… this can certainly be replicated throughout the planet, and have the future generations enjoy the fruits of our labor. Why not? So much can be done with very little. Even converting our backyards into small paradises containing the essential ingredients to sustain & nourish our bodies with the minimum impact on the planet, sounds feasible to me. This makes me dream for a better and more conscious planet.

    Sending you much love Coralina!

  3. What a wonderful video, Maria! I Loved it! Thank you for sharing it with all of us. For myself, you couldn’t have shared it at a better Time. My family and I are in the design process of a major building project, and have just been discussing the gardens and greenhouses we are including in the designs. The concept of a food forest is perfect for our plans, so we will gladly incorporate them into our garden designs. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing this.

    Isn’t synchronicity wonderful?!? 😀

    With Joy,
    Mia

  5. Such a wonderful idea, Maria, to create sustainable gardens and you are right ~ It really does not take that much space ~ How nice to be able to pick fresh and healthy greens for our salads, herbs for our meals and fruits and vegetables from our own backyards! ~
Thank you for bringing the wisdom from a far away land ..to Divine Earth that create a better and more conscious planet ~
