View from Yogananda’s Ashram ~ Swami’s

Another sacred place that I was blessed to share its beauty with Johannes on his recent California visit is the Paramahansa Yogananda’s home and  meditation gardens ~ It overlooks Swami’s beach – favorite surfing spot and has even become a part of surfing history in the classic Beach Boys song – Surfing U.S.A. ~ A local blessing ~
From Wikipedia – Swami’s, also known as “Swamis”, is an internationally known surfing spot, a point break located in Encinitas, California. Swami’s was named after Swami Paramahansa Yogananda , because the grounds and hermitage of the Self-Realization Fellowship ashram, built in 1937, overlook this reef point.

  2. How fun Yannaki ~ The beach communities here keep their songs alive in local beach hang-outs! ~ It is my pleasure to share Yogananda’s very special sacred grounds with Divine Earth and all ~ When standing on the bluff of Yogananda’s lawn – taking in these sights .. one can truly feel the blessing and understand why this was such an important place and part of the Swami Yogananda’s life ~

  3. You are lucky to have such beautiful places of spirituality, Coralina! 🙂 It must be truly wonderful to meditate there. 🙂 To share a meditation in a place where others have meditated or done other spiritually uplifting things is what makes a place sacred. The good energies from this place are great! 🙂 Thanks for sharing…..

  4. Thank you Mia! ~ It gives me such pleasure to share these sacred grounds that go back to my childhood memories! ~
