The Truth About Hair and why Native/Indians would keep their Hair Long

‎”Hair is an extension of the nervous system, it can be correctly seen as exteriorized nerves, a type of highly evolved \’feelers\’ or \’antennae\’ that transmit vast amounts of important information to the brainstem, the limbic system, and the neocortex.”

  1. Interesting Maria! Long hair has been associated with many spiritual atributes throughout the ages too ~ Subconsciously .. some native cultures view long hair as a return to the creational source – water – the flow of the collective unconscious ~ (as in the flow of energy moving upward through the crown chakra)

Also, these divine traits have been depicted in both men and women symbolic deities such as Aquarius portrayed with long tresses ~ It has been said that we are currently shifting into the Aquarian Age ~

  2. Yogis and Sikhs recognize long hair to be beneficial. But for some reason the Buddhist monks shave their heads. Then there was Samson from the Bible who believed his long hair gave him strength….Oh, and rock stars keep their hair long too ‘cuz they know it enhances their connection to the creative source. Ok, maybe they don’t know it, but it it’s true. 🙂

  3. What a great article, Maria! Thank you so much for sharing it! 🙂 Now I know why I felt like a part of myself died the one and only time I have had my hair cut short! It was a truly horrible experience! I can only wonder what the Native American men in these studies must have felt! Many Native Americans are taught that their hair is a part of their self-identity and power. They take pride in keeping it long, clean, and beautiful. Now we know that it is so much more than that. 🙂

btw….I really like this website, too! 😉

Johannes…..Should we be looking forward to more and more creative sounds out of your music as your hair grows longer? 😉 LOL That will be fun! 🙂
