“Itarashtam tithar Kashtam – empty handed you come, empty handed you go. It’s a law which should never be broken. And you should (as a teacher) share freely, but never receive a student who comes empty handed – that’s the law. If a person shall come empty handed, that person may sit here for six hours and do all kinds of yoga, but the moment he goes out of that door, he’ll go empty handed. That’s the only condition, and it’s not up to you or me.” ~ Yogi Bhajan
Good morning… What a beautiful day…You sound and look lovely!
What a beautiful guitar serenade ~ Thank you Seva for bringing such beauty to our morning!
Dear Sevara, a father’s day memory to share ~
A few days ago a friend was sharing with me her recent trip to the Midwest visiting relatives on a family farm ~ She thought it was so much fun to watch the children take tractor rides around the farm with their dad ~
Her story triggered a very precious childhood memory for me about my dad ~
One of the many joys of growing up on our flower farm was Dad’s tractor rides ~ Me and my sister would sit in the metal bucket (scooper) attached to the front of the tractor .. and then Dad would lift it and us high into the air and proceed to take us for a ride around the farm with me and my sister perched high in the sky in the metal scooper with a bird’s eye view ~
One ride in particular I will never forget because when we were sitting with the bucket lifted at its highest point ..my sister and I noticed a large cluster of cell bugs had made a home in the inside corner of the bucket where we were sitting ~ We both screamed at the top of our lungs! We would all laugh – looking back at that experience ~
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and thank you so much, dear Sevara, for taking the time on this special day for class ~
Much Metta ~ Luv Coralina ~
Ahhh! – im so glad i didn’t miss out on today’s session 🙂 – a refreshing and healing break from the wackiness of da week (Whew!) ~ Thanks once again Seva for guiding us with love n’ compassion ~
(I even saw da guitarra prelude u played for us — those sweeps r fun…hehe) — Ahhh…and even had blankie time too (need more sleepie….luv my blankie!)
A moment to reflect – it’s funny how the thoughts u shared at the very beginning is similar to what i’ve pondered over time…how we sometimes do forget our connection – we drift somehow ~ even to the best of us (so i shouldnt feel too bad when it happens to me!) — the thing is to keep that inner sanctuary within – never lose that – the part of us that keeps us innocent…the part of us that keeps us looking at our world around us with open wonderous eyes…..recognize what doesnt serve us….and if we do get drifted….dont punish ourselves harshly for it….reflect on it….forgive….and be gentle with oneself……like lovingly guiding a rambunctious kid ~ (or like da little engine dat could -wee!)
Also, i’ve learned — it’s not about the pleasures themselves – it is our ego’s clinging to them….We dont have to deprive ourselves of simple pleasures (which actually isnt good for us either!) ~ We can enjoy certain things without the pleasures themselves getting the best of us! ~ and knowing deep within, when it’s not serving us anymore – (hehe…takin’ a page out of my heritage….one that is an expert at enjoying the pleasures and zest for for life n’ havin fun…Opa!)
What a wonderful healing session. I feel so fortunate to be able to share this time with you and everyone else on Divine Earth. Thank you for imparting your thoughts and wisdom. Kindness, love, and compassion to you today and always.
With love,
Gitana
And a word for Pappa’s Day:
May our beloved pappa’s everywhere be blessed with love and joy on this Father’s Day – and every day –
I’m going to spend time with mi pappa watching the WORLD CUP! _ hehe…i’ve always loved soccer since i was a little kiddie….One of the sports i used to play with my pappa…who taught me tricks back in the day…AND im gonna give him a hug too! (he doesnt like them tho….He macho dude! – lol -)
And Coralinni, such a tender and awesome pappa’s story you shared with us here – those precious moments we cherish throughout our lives…..Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for another blissful Sunday morning, Many Blessings to you, Namaste!
Gobinda Gobinda Hari Hari is a very beautiful mantra ~ Thank you so much for bringing its sweet essence to us ~
hummm ..The car does not ring a bell with me ~
My question is, dear Sevara, is our father’s role in our lives a key influence in our own identity???
We are fortunate to have amazing father figures in our lives (my dad passed away but very much with me everyday) .. but I also think about those who do not have fathers around to raise us such as the character in the movie – the Karate Kid ~ The boy went to China only with his mother .. and Mr. Han, his Kung fu master who lost his family in a car accident, seems to have taken on the role as the boy’s father figure??
(You beat me in seeing the movie first!)
Thank you again, Seva, for today’s session ~ You uplift and enrich my spirit and body from the inside out and always leave me with much food for thought for the rest of the day and week ahead!
Sat Nam ~ Love ~ Coralina ~
