We had a wonderful time in Hawaii. Whale Song, the retreat center we rented for the week, was absolutely gorgeous and magical. Its location is tucked away on the side of a mountain with elevating vistas of the Kealakekua Bay and the rest of the ocean. There are also many fruit trees, goats, chickens, geckos, that added to the serenity and the feeling of truly being separated from the “real world” of concrete, traffic jams, smog, crowds, and other perils of city life.
Our week included daily morning meditation at 5 am, trips to the ocean to snorkel with the indigenous marine life, delicious vegetarian meals, singing and yoga. I also shared some Kung Fu self-defense techniques as well as Qi Gong.
