Mayan Dresden Codex ~ End of time or the beginning of the Aquarian Age ~
We will all hear many viewpoints over the next year, for we are one year away from Dec. 21, 2012, the date some say the ancient Mayan calendar marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity ~ However, many others say this is not the true meaning of the Mayan calendar and the world will not end .. but the beginning of a new era of hope ~ The age of Aquarius ~
The Mayan long count calendar begins in 3,114 B.C., marking time in roughly 394-year periods known as Baktuns~ Thirteen was a significant, sacred number for the Mayas, and they wrote that the 13th Baktun ends on Dec. 21, 2012 ~
The predicted ending time includes a solar shift and violent earthquakes .. which may indeed take place .. but not necessaily mean the end of time ~
Much of what we know about Mayan prophecy regarding 2012 comes from an ancient Mayan book now known as the Dresden Codex ~
The Mayans wrote many books but only four of them remain today ~ The Dresden Codex is one of four surviving Mayan codices ~ It arrived in the Saxony court in Dresden, Germany, in 1739 and today is housed in the state library ~
In the images posted here .. contained on the last page of that book.. the winter solstice of 2012 ~ The figure in the middle of the page represents a mythical water-bearer announcing the end of the age ~ Interesting that the mythical water-bearer also happens to be the sign that announces the arrival of the new age of Aquarius ~ And those four boxes over the water-bearer’s head represent the four planets visible to the naked eye in alignment with each other on that day (as in Jupiter aligns with Mars) Also, see 11:11 in the third box from the left ~ It looks similar to a wristwatch with paired elevens balancing each other out ~ The Mayan calendar winter solstice of 2012, it is predicted, will occur at exactly 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time ~ A time when the idea that humanity is wakening to a sort of gateway on the path of our expanding spiritual awareness ~
So the Dresden Codex gives hope to the idea of the ending date of Dec. 21, 2012 as the pathway to the water-bearer into a new era – the age of Aquarius ~
One does not have to be born under any particular star sign to be an Aquarian ~ The shifting to a new begriming of time is the desire and vision when enough people act from a place of peace and hope and love ~
