Qigong ~ Universal Chi Energy

From Chi Meditation ~ Harmony and Balance of Body-Mind-Spirit ~

” The practice of Qigong is a health and spiritual practice. Developed in China, possibly as far back as 5,000 years ago, Qigong (Chi Gong) uses various movements to cultivate and enhance the body’s Chi.

Chi, alternatively spelled Qi and pronounced “chee”, can perhaps be best described as life-force energy. It is the energy that flows throughout and around the body. In the Chinese system of medicine when the Chi is properly balanced and flowing a person will experience good health, emotional well-being and mental clarity. When the Chi is blocked or imbalanced it will stagnate and create the conditions that lead to poor health and disease.

“Gong” refers to the cultivation of Chi. Using focused concentration, simple movements and balanced breathing Chi Gong increases the strength and flow of Chi throughout the body.
Studies have shown Qigong directly:

Strengthens the endocrine and immune systems.

  • Helps the body eliminate toxins
  • Increases the function of the internal organs
  • Reduces stress and stress related illness
  • Increases energy, vitality and mental clarity
  • Improves body awareness and posture.

Qigong is also a deeply spiritual practice. In addition to cultivating our own Chi, Qi Gong deepens our connection to the Chi field all around us. In western science it is understood that ultimately everything is made up of energy. This is the meaning of the famous E = MC2; equation. Energy = Mass (all physical matter) x C (the universal constant of the speed of light) 2 (squared, multiplied by itself).

According to Chinese medicine this energy is Chi. It is an alive, vibrant energy, the animating force of all things. There is a universal field of Chi that we are all part of. It is the living energy that we are as well as every other living thing and the energy that gives rise to the whole universe.  Practicing Qigong helps us to deepen our connection with the universal Chi field. Deepening this connection brings a greater feeling of peace, balance and spiritual connection.”

  1. Thank you, Coralina, for sharing this information about this wonderful art.

  2. I think it’s wonderful that so many people are discovering and benefiting from the wisdom of ancient Chinese Qigong ~ Many I know are receiving qi healing and I know you, Johannes, not only receive but also are a Qigong healer to others ~ A great blessing! Here is another quote that I like that attempts to describe the Life Force healing Qigong ~ Qi healing has roots in ancient China and also in spiritual practices of early martial artists and healers. As time went on over thousands of years, the many ways of working with energy merged and diverged, creating many schools of qigong, from martial arts to healing and medicine, to spiritual growth. Healing qigong uses the body, mind and breathing to do healing work, in partnership with natural energies that are all around us every day, such as sun, air, water, earth, plants, and even the night stars and moon in the sky. It is a heart-centered, compassionate, gentle and yet profound practice ~

  3. Awesome blog about the benefits of this ancient, but amazingly healing internal martial art! — in today’s modern times….people are beginning to recognize the healing effects of such holistic practices and alternative healthcare methods, as we seek to improve our health and vitality ~

As i’ve shared before, I’ve experienced the healing effects of Qigong firsthand with my acupuncture sessions. my acupuncturist, also a certified Qigong practictioner, has performed medical qigong on me during my sessions and i would feel the very subtle but profound effects in my body and mind, my own Qi being strengthened and flowing correctly….it truly is amazing and still blows me away everytime ~ (my acupunctusrist would be across the room and i could still feel the subtle vibrations and sensations)

A truly remarkable art indeed – as Joh says….Thank you Coralinni for sharing!! :)))
btw, I really LOVE that YinYang graphic!!!! — a symbol of serenity and balance ~

There is so much wisdom from ancient cultures – no doubt divinely inspired in many ways! ~
