Similar forgiveness practices were performed on islands throughout the\u00a0<a title=\"Oceania\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oceania\">South Pacific<\/a>, including Samoa, Tahiti and New Zealand. Traditionally ho\u02bboponopono is practiced by healing priests or\u00a0<em><a title=\"Kahuna\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kahuna\">kahuna<\/a>\u00a0lapa\u02bbau<\/em>\u00a0among family members of a person who is physically ill. Modern versions are performed within the family by a family elder, or by the individual alone.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ho&#8217;oponopono makes it &#8220;all right&#8221; with them.
