{"id":1720,"date":"2010-12-20T04:46:04","date_gmt":"2010-12-20T04:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divineearth.org\/main\/?p=1720"},"modified":"2010-12-20T04:47:44","modified_gmt":"2010-12-20T04:47:44","slug":"total-lunar-eclipse-monday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/divineearth.org\/main\/total-lunar-eclipse-monday-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Total Lunar Eclipse Monday Night ~"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/l1.yimg.com\/a\/i\/ww\/news\/2010\/12\/18\/eclipse.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"154\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to new member Mia Amore&#8217; for mentioning the\u00a0Lunar Eclipse! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some more\u00a0information from Space.com that shows how special this event will be ~<\/p>\n<p>Total Lunar Eclipse Monday Night ~ The total phase of the eclipse will last 72 minutes beginning at\u00a02:41 a.m. EST or 11:41 p.m. PST on Dec. 20th ~<\/p>\n<p>During totality, although the moon will be entirely immersed in the Earth&#8217;s shadow, it likely will not disappear from sight.\u00a0 Rather, it should appear to turn a coppery red color, a change caused by the Earth&#8217;s atmosphere bending or refracting sunlight into the shadow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Past and future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The last total lunar eclipse occurred on Feb. 20 to Feb. 21, 2008 and was visible from most of the Americas, as well as Europe, much of Africa and western Asia.
