{"id":1370,"date":"2010-11-06T18:32:25","date_gmt":"2010-11-06T18:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divineearth.org\/main\/?p=1370"},"modified":"2010-11-10T04:54:10","modified_gmt":"2010-11-10T04:54:10","slug":"another-wonderful-concert-at-anthology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/divineearth.org\/main\/another-wonderful-concert-at-anthology\/","title":{"rendered":"Another wonderful concert at Anthology ~"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey there ~ I thought I&#8217;d share a wonderful concert\u00a0I experienced last week at Anthology in San Diego\u00a0~ Anthology is\u00a0a great\u00a0supper club that attracts some of the greatest musical artists of our time including our number one musical inspiration, Johannes!! ~<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8UtYAoI3JWs<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sJEzRA_FbFo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0was blessed to catch a great performance at Anthology by &#8220;another&#8221; personal musical inspiration &#8211; the legendary jazz band, Hiroshima ~ I was deeply moved by their beautiful spirit and music ~ They are unique in\u00a0the way they incorporate the beauty of the\u00a0ancient\u00a0instrument, the Koto, into their jazz music ~ They\u00a0are\u00a0American born\u00a0(except for the lovely Koto master, June, who was born in Japan but moved to America when she was 6 years old.)<\/p>\n<p>One can hear the beauty of June&#8217;s koto in &#8220;One Wish&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A quote from their website ~<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Since Hiroshima&#8217;s inception in 1980, the group has assumed the artistic mission of bridging cultural divides through the power of music. Hiroshima has borrowed from numerous cultures &#8211; Asian, Latin American, African American and more &#8211; and merged these influences into a unique and innovative whole that is solely their own. The result is a brand of music that speaks to nearly every aspect of contemporary culture&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re always looking at things from a multicultural perspective.\u00a0We see this as the coolest thing about America. Its strength and its vision comes from its multi-ethnicity. Those differences are going to give us the strength to be more unified.
