Suncatcher's quotes
Perfect Future
Submitted by Suncatcher on Thu, 01/24/2008 - 13:21.Imagine for a moment your own version of a perfect future. See yourself in that future with everything you could wish for at this very moment fulfilled. Now take the memory of that future and bring it here into the present. Let it influence how you will behave from this moment on.
Happiness
Submitted by Suncatcher on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 14:44.Happiness is like a butterfly
The more you chase it the more it eludes you
But if you turn your attention to other things
It comes and sits softly on your shoulder.
~ Henry David thoreau ~
Blessings from Earth
Submitted by Suncatcher on Wed, 12/12/2007 - 02:28.The green earth sends her incense up
From many a mountain shrine;
From folded leaf and dewy cup
She pours her sacred wine.
Joys of Nature
Submitted by Suncatcher on Wed, 12/12/2007 - 02:24.Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
Keep Peaceful and Loving Thoughts
Submitted by Suncatcher on Fri, 11/16/2007 - 22:52.If you and I are having a single thought of violence or hatred against anyone in the world at this moment, we are contributing to the wounding of the world.
Spirit is Love
Submitted by Suncatcher on Fri, 11/16/2007 - 22:49.Remember, in our inner most being, we are all completely lovable because spirit is love. Beyond what anyone can make you think or feel about yourself, your unconditional spirit stands, shining with a love nothing can tarnish.
Peace
Submitted by Suncatcher on Sun, 10/07/2007 - 23:07.Peace originates with the flow of things - it's heart is like the movement of the wind and waves. The Way is like the veins that circulate blood through our bodies, following the natural flow of life force. If you are separated in the slightest from that divine essence, you are far off the path.
Peace
Submitted by Suncatcher on Sun, 10/07/2007 - 23:00.We can bomb the world to pieces, but we can't bomb it into peace.
Our World
Submitted by Suncatcher on Sun, 10/07/2007 - 22:58.The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands.
Beauty Within
Submitted by Suncatcher on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 17:37.In your light I learn how to love,
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
Feeling Nature
Submitted by Suncatcher on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 17:13.The sun shines not on us, but in us. The rivers flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies. Making them glide and sing!
~John Muir~

~Henry David Thoreau~
Love (Metta)
Submitted by Suncatcher on Sat, 09/29/2007 - 23:01.What the world needs now, is Love, Compassion, Kindness, Simplicity, Honesty and Truth, Spirituality, Respect and Reverence throughout the Universe, and more. The Highest Love, I believe, is why we are on this earth to learn. Everything falls into place when the Highest Love is attained.
I found a most inspiring quote on this subject I'd like to share.
Love, without desire to possess, knowing well that in the ultimate sense there is no possession and no possessor: this is the highest love.
Love, without speaking and thinking of "I," knowing well that this so-called "I" is a mere delusion.
Love, without selecting and excluding, knowing well that to do so means to create love's own contrasts; dislike, aversion and hatred.
Love, embracing all beings: small and great, far and near, be it on earth, in the water or in the air.
Love, embracing impartially all sentient beings, and not only those who are useful, pleasing or amusing to us.
Love, embracing all beings, be they noble-minded or low-minded, good or evil. The noble and the good are embraced because Love is flowing to them spontaneously. The low-minded and evil-minded are included because they are those who are most in need of Love. In many of them the seed of goodness may have died merely because warmth was lacking for its growth, because it perished from cold in a loveless world.
Love, embracing all beings, knowing well that we all are fellow wayfarers through this round of existence -- that we all are overcome by the same law of suffering.
Love, but not the sensuous fire that burns, scorches and tortures, that inflicts more wounds than it cures -- flaring up now, at the next moment being extinguished, leaving behind more coldness and loneliness than was felt before. Rather, Love that lies like a soft but firm hand on the ailing beings, ever unchanged in its sympathy, without wavering, unconcerned with any response it meets. Love that is comforting coolness to those who burn with the fire of suffering and passion; that is life-giving warmth to those abandoned in the cold desert of loneliness, to those who are shivering in the frost of a loveless world; to those whose hearts have become as if empty and dry by the repeated calls for help, by deepest despair.
Love, that is a sublime nobility of heart and intellect which knows, understands and is ready to help.
Love, that is strength and gives strength: this is the highest Love.
Love, which by the Enlightened One was named "the liberation of the heart," "the most sublime beauty": this is the highest Love.
And what is the highest manifestation of Love?
To show the world the path leading to the end of suffering.
Freedom in Forgiving
Submitted by Suncatcher on Sat, 09/15/2007 - 20:21.If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
Do the impossible
Submitted by Suncatcher on Mon, 09/03/2007 - 15:04.Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
