Ecology

For us to truly care and seek ways to help our Mother Earth - it is destructive to think in terms of only one's own lifetime ~ In fact that is one of the factors that contributes to wasteful thinking and habits ~ It is like having a picnic in a lovely park and leaving all our trash thrown about ... not caring about the next visitors ~ Concern for our planet should be not only what happens in our own lifetime but also what we leave behind - I think about my nieces, nephew, all the future generations to come ~

Respect for da environment - YeA!

Thnx Coralinni for sharin' yer deep thoughts about protectin' our planet's ecology - Res-pecktin' MoTheR NaTure - YEA!!!

DAT RIGHT! - we've been blessed by such a precious planet - full of nature's wonders n' delights --- preservin' our ecology is a responsibility we must all take part in - thinkin' of our future generations - so they can cherish what we have's today! ~

Love da picnic analogy Coralinni! - yepz! - It amazes me when me see others dumpin' a piece of trash on da side of da road (Grrr!) or someone not doin' their part in recyclin' -- n' don't give forethought to the near future -- Our children & relatives -- not thinkin' dat our current actions will affect others down da line ~ and lead to trouble's! ~ :O

There's a perfect example of how resources are wasted by a society, not thinkin of future consequences -- da demise of da famous "Easter Island" - land of da Rapa Nui - (will talk about it more's in a future bloggie! - reeal interestin'!)

"Easter Island" is considered by environmentalists alike...a microcosm of da planet Earth -- which used to be a beautiful exotic Pacific paradise ~ palm trees, many species of wildlife......it was home to da great Rapa Nui civilization......But years of wasteful use of da land, fueled by a self-centered viewpoint and pride, not thinkin' of da future consequences.......led up to their own demise and da destruction of their once beautiful island -- which remains today a barren island devoid of vegation n' dry grasslands ~ (DAT BaD'z!)

So it teaches us to respect our Earth Mother - keepin' in mind dat what we do 2-day's will impact those further down da road -- as we're all interconnected's! ~

Let us do our part in takin' care of our natural resources - n' work together's in savin' our planet -- providin' our future generations with da blessings we cherish today ~

(don't wanna make "lil billy" say to pop pop's, "why is da sky brown?" ) O_o

~ Peace, Love, Joy ~

This is a perfect example of exactly what I was trying to say in my quote Yannaki ~ People need to stop the "me me me" way of thinking - let go of ego and self-centered ways of thinking ~ The consequences of not thinking of the community destroyed the blessing they were given of a beautiful paradise ... Thank you for sharing that with us Yannaki ~

So true

Ditto, I share these views. And to add ... on occasion I've witnessed ... even persons I know, flip a gum wrapper out of a car window ... I say, "what did you just do" ... "oh, it was just a small wrapper, can't hurt anything" ... "oh yeh," "multiply that one little wrapper by about a million or so persons" ..... "hmmm, never thought about that."

And that's just it ... many people just don't think!

good

Good for you Suncatcher that you point out to your friend that even a little gum wrapper can contribute to the larger picture and can hurt ~

I bet your friend gained even more respect for you for your gesture of caring for our planet!
