Sevara,
I started taking Usui Reiki classes and went thru the 1st level, going for 2nd level in a couple of days. the 1st level class was suppose to be about a month before the 2nd class. The teacher got injured and was not able to teach the class until 2 weeks ago. As I mentioned I have the second one in a few days, but I was reading some literature on the subject, and it said that between the first 2 levels there is a need of at least 21 days, for the cleanse process after the attunements. In the book the author also talks about 4 attunements that are done in level, we only did 1 in the first class. Then goes on to recommend at least 3 -12 months of practice before 3rd level.
Is there a certain time period that is recommended between the levels per your experience, and being a master in the art ? Is there a need for all 4 attunements or one is enough ?
Thank you for any opinions on the subject.

While Reiki is very powerful, the learning process leaves a lot of gaps. Not everyone is at the same level, so how can one say how long it will take to grasp and absorb the teachings and attunements. Reiki has become quite commercial. Basically you pay a fee and after a few weekend you're a "Master". The title "Master" really strokes the ego. I would like to see much more apprenticeship that is overseen by the teacher. In any case, decide your feelings about your teacher. Does she truly project the energy and consciousness of a Master? If so, trust her recommendations but above all trust your own intuition.

2. Reiki Master
Hola Sevara and Chica,
From my own experience with becomming a Reiki Master it was NOT pay and Become.
I really lucked out on finding my teacher. She gave us alot of time to absorb the teachings and process the attunements. We were never pushed into the next level. Some who took the first level never completed any others. She also gave us plenty of practice with Reiki Shares every week, and still does. I still go on occassion to catch up on some beautiful energies. There were only two of us in Master Class which was such an awesome experince for me. Although each attunment was awesome! Becomming Master did not stoke the ego. Actually it was the opposite. It took alot of hard inner work processing and releasing. A humble experince. I did however have a sense of accomplishment in the learning and becomming. It was the start of delving into other energetic healing modalities mostly for my own growth and expansion. Although I do help others when asked, I am not making a living from this.
I do agree with Sevara to discern what is right for you.
There are those who are in it for the money just as there are others who embody the teachings of Usui.

3. Reiki 2
I went thru the 2nd level of training, and the teacher informed us at the end of the class that the 3rd level will be this next month. I was really surprised that she scheduled them so close one to another... and in this 2nd class, I got to see some of the gaps that you were talking about Sevara...it didn't feel the same as in the first one… maybe here intervened the fact that I haven't practiced as much as I should have, as you get caught in everyday life things. I also don't feel ready for this next level, so I am not going to attend for now. I started using the first symbol on all things around me, but as I don't plan on making the use of Reiki a commercial tool, I feel that I can take the time to practice and use it more in my life and people dear to me, at this time.
It has been a wonderful experience, none the less ...with gaps here and there :)
Thank you for your thoughts !
