Spiritual Disneyland

Yanniki, your photo of the skywalk at the Grand Canyon reminded me of a beautiful vacation shared with some of my family members in December 2004. An awesome place to visit, Sedona, Arizona. I highly suggest this area as the place to experience a memorable and spiritual retreat. Hmmm, perhaps at some future time, Sedona could be a place members of Divine Earth might wish to share as a group.
There are several energy centers, or vortexes of subtle energy, located in the Sedona area. (In Sedona, the energy centers are referred to as vortexes rather than vortices.) The energy from these vortexes saturates the whole area in and around Sedona, and can be noticed in a subtle but general way anywhere around town. If you actually go to one of the vortex sites, which is where the energy is strongest, it can be a very uplifting experience. The energy you take in at one of these energy centers can stay with you and affect you positively for days afterwards.
In addition to being a beautiful and serene place, Sedona has long been known as a spiritual power center. This is because the power that emanuates from the vortexes produces some of the most remarkable energy on the planet. This energy is the reason Sedona is full of people that are "on the path", that is, people who have made a commitment to grow and become as much as they can spiritually. It is also the reason that such a large New Age community has sprung up in the Sedona area, bringing with it a variety of spiritual practices and alternative healing modalities, and it is the reason Sedona has sometimes been called a spiritual Disneyland.

Thin Places.....

Yepz! - me've heard of da famous Vortices in and around Sedona, (saw a special on Da Discovery channel) --- and it's such a spectacular place!! -- With rich golden-hued sunsets illuminatin da surroundin' mountains a fiery red.......it is a place for our souls to connect to the higher realms of existence --- and explore our inner selves, the "I AM" (dat why there are soooo many artists n' muzik dudes from Sedona....)
While some skeptics dont believe in such phenomena (OF COURSE THEY DONT!!) --- when one allows their minds and hearts to remain open.....one can truly feel their presence.........Vortices are those so-called "Thin Places" --- where our physical reality intermingles w/ the ethereal planes to dimensions far beyonf or finite comprehension --- like breaks in a thick dark cloud.......And you feel nothing but pure soul-energy & light emanating from these thin places.......A truly amazing and deep feeling and permeates straight into the very centers of our being.........
Even meditation & quiet moments in nature, music, writing......can all create these thin places for a while........Allow yer own vortex to open......and sense the awesome energies to energize and heal you from deep within........reaching that blissful state of peace n' serenity --- "samadhi" ~

And I'll share a link I found while reminiscing our trip. I didn't even know this, however now that I think back, we all noticed the differences and discussed them as we were hiking back to our vehicle. The website listed has a nice description the earlier post did not contain. Oh Yes, it's more than energy. Already experiencing the Divine Energy we all have and most or all members are familiar with this and combining this with the energy from Mother Earth ..... is like no other!
For example:
The Airport Mesa Vortex emits a subtle electric energy that recharges the physical body and aids in opening our body's energy centers known as the "chakras." The energy at this vortex is superb for enhancing psychic abilities and expanding one's spiritual consciousness.

The Courthouse Butte Vortex emits an aura of mystery, history and adventure and many travelers claim they have experienced deep spiritual transformations through the entering of portals located within the rock. This vortex is one of the strongest catalysts for personal and spiritual growth in Sedona.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross Vortex is one of the strongest and most easily felt vortexes in all of Sedona. The feeling within the walls of the chapel is one of inspiration and joy. The energy of this vortex site also includes love, harmony, unity and oneness with all that is.
The Schnebly Hill Vortex is cleansing and purifying. For those who are looking to release old negative patterns and blockages, this is the place. All vortexes emit energy and for those who just wish to feel increased energy and vitality, Schnebly Hill Vortex will do the trick!
The Boynton Canyon Vortex - the vast canyon and its vortexes encampass both masculine and feminine energies and is ideal for balancing these energies within oneself and for harmonizing relationships with others.
And I might add, we all felt the benefits for several weeks following, it doesn't leave when you leave the sites or Sedona.

Yes indeed, Sedona is a wonderful place. I look forward to going back again. There are lots of art shops, artists and performing artists, great restaurants, and other things to do but we spent most of our time hiking. Next time, hopefully I can spend more time there and include some of these activities.

Thank you for this information, Suncatcher. I have always had my eye on Sedona as a place I'd like to visit. Even more so now! I love the desert Southwest and everything that Nature has to offer in these areas. I'm very intrigued by these energy vortexes and intend to research them further. Hmmm, I'm wondering if the areas of Las Vegas that I love so much (Valley Of Fire and Red Rock Canyon) have the same type of energies. Every time I visit one or both, I just feel so alive every time.. and it stays with me for a very long time. I really felt the connection during my recent visit there in August.

Yes Karyl, the areas of Las Vegas that you love so much could be a source of this energy. If there are any trees or bush growth and the trunk and limbs are twisted, this is a sign of this type energy. And it could also be your own energy is enhanced because of this areas positive influence on you. I have areas I have traveled to that affect me this way also. (Hmmm, next time we should look for twisted vegetation to determine which it is.)
A vortex can be explained as a place on the earth where energy is either entering the earth through energy lines or it is projecting this energy out of the earth. The energy lines run on the earth, just like the acupuncture meridians or energy lines run through our body and connect to our chakras and organs. The earth has a chakra system and meridians that connect this system just like our own system.
When the vortex energy is entering the earth, it is a feminine vortex, enhancing meditation and going within. It is also considered magnetic energy (drawing in).
The energy vortex sites that have energy leaving the earth are considered masculine and are considered best for practicing Chi Kung, meditations on your goals that you want to manifest, or any more active practice. Male energy vortex sites are electro-magnetic.
Sedona has about 20 known sites where vortex energy is present. Not all of them are visited however. Some are on private land and not accessible by the public.
I too, look forward to a future trip to Sedona. The week we were there went by much too fast. I didn't want to leave.
