Offerings/donation: It is of the utmost importance that you come to class with an offering (read Yogi Bhajan's statement below). The offering should be made in the spirit of gratitude and can be in a monetary form, which is usually easiest, or a gift.
Recommended online class donation is $10.
"Itarashtam tithar Kashtam - empty handed you come, empty handed you go. It's a law which should never be broken. And you should (as a teacher) share freely, but never receive a student who comes empty handed - that's the law. If a person shall come empty handed, that person may sit here for six hours and do all kinds of yoga, but the moment he goes out of that door, he'll go empty handed. That's the only condition, and it's not up to you or me."
~ Yogi Bhajan

1. Thank you for taking time
Thank you for taking time from your busy life to teach us the path to a more peaceful life.
2. Zeroing In ~
A question on the Zeroing In exercise ~
When one is concentrating on a pervading thought....one that keeps coming back and back....such as from a traumatic experience or a strong worry....or even an urge ~ it can seem very daunting the task ~ I have been practicing this technique for quite some time now (in a similar mehod) - of facing what bothers us with a neutrality to it.....trying to deal with it....neither expressing hate or love ~ I do notice there's a moment where the emotional element associated with the thought arises....and it's very physical....varying in intensity.....surging for a moment....(nervous energy comes out...one feels shaky or anxious....numb....flushed...) - until it passes.....then the pervading thought or feeling.....diminishes and afterwards....the presence of the thought or feeling is much less as one senses the peace following it....and that peace is wonderful! ~ ahhhh ~
It's much easier at certain times....but other times....it's much more difficult....The very same thoughts and feelings still resurface maybe days later ~
When Zeroing In, do we simply come to terms with the annoying thoughts, with the passive neutrality, an ongoing battle.....or can the waters of the mind finally be still again?
Also, can the same principle work w/ daily activities....it's easy when the problems are not right in front of us....When the challenges are right in our faces.....how does one maintain that neutrality and make it feel natural? -- Like for example when someone has a weapon up to us....or yelling in our faces?
3. Healer of body and soul ~
Dear Sevara ~
You renew and cleanse my soul through your clarity of thought, body workout and innate insight into the human condition ~ You seem to draw from much innate wisdom and still combining it with the ancient eternal wisdom of spiritual enlightenment ~
I was just thinking how these yoga classes are such a natural part of your life's path ~ I read this description of "shamans" and thought of you~
"Shamans are intermediaries or messengers between the human world and the spirit worlds. Shamans are said to treat ailments/illness by mending the soul. Alleviating traumas affecting the soul/spirit restores the physical body of the individual to balance and wholeness."
Thank you, Sevara, for the blessing of your healing presence and wisdom in my life ~ With gratitude and bliss ~Love Coralina ~
4. Moment of realization ~
As you know .. with Brittni's new music - lately I have immersed myself in your song "Hour of the Lamps" in both versions ~
It was Hour of the Lamps from your Mediterranea album that first revealed to me (among other moments of realization) your deeply mystical side ..rekindling the flame within ~
What a blessing ~
With loving kindness ..Satnam ~ Coralina ~
5. Maintaining inner bliss...
Dear Sevara...Negative forces must have been out & about trying to cause havoc this past week. If those forces exist? Yesterday proved to be a challenging day for me (at work). As much as I tried to maintain my inner bliss, the powers that be kept challenging me.
Your class today has helped me drive out all negative thoughts within, bringing back my smile. Your lessons, dear Sevara, are truly invaluable to me!
Maintaining my inner bliss, thanks to my wonderful yogi. ;-)
All Love,
