It is summer time in the South of France!... and the Lavender of Provence is in bloom!
Did you know that Lavender, once planted, takes 3 years to bloom, and only 1 single flower grows on each stem, and it blooms just once each year. … A beautiful lesson ~
When the Lavender begins to bloom in June….. so much comes to life .
The bees come for pollen and make lavender honey . The Lavender Blooms are used for teas, sugars , herbs, cooking, incense and most important , making essential oils for healing, beauty and vitality.
The color of Lavender is a very strong, high vibration color, the color of connection to the spiritual realms (7th chakra.)
Lavender came originally from Persia and the Spanish Canary islands that face Morocco, and established itself in Provence in ancient times
It takes 287 pounds of Lavender flowers to obtain just 33 ounces of essential oil.

Great blog about the beauty of lavender blooms Maelight! - They truly are precious! ~ Interestin' facts as well! - Nature's gift to us, the scent of lavender - to heal n' soothe our inner being...ahhhh..... (Lavender is also well-known in aromatherapy for its relaxing properties...and an aid for sleep - I've been using a lot of lavender-scented products....and helps me get my zzzz's!)
