A few years ago I took this picture at the Paramahansa Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship Ashram Center in Encinitas California ~ (A view from the Yogananda's back yard/lawn which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.) This is a typical scene one can find while strolling through the grounds of the Yogananda's retreat ~ Wearing robes of spiritual colors - meditation is enhanced by the ocean view and lovely grounds and gardens ~

Each year people come from far and near to experience the spiritual retreat living at this ashram which includes lovely rooms and meals with lectures and daily meditation ~

"You cannot reason your way into Self-realization.
You cannot think your way into God-realization.
You can arrive at those exalted states
only by using the concentrated mind
in meditation, going beyond the intellect
to perceive through the
power of the soul’s sixth sense."
Sri Daya Mata

Also, a quote from one who traveled from New York to the retreat for a week long stay ..she reflects...

"I am going to have a great life, an amazing life. Life is like a flicker of a light in the grand scheme of it all. It goes by in a flash, it really does."

Ommmmmm......

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ~

What a beautiful shot of tranquility u share w/ us Coralinni's!! --- w/ da dude in deep silent zazen -- seeking his center ~

DAT RIGHT! - da Yogananda's Ashram is truly a sacred place full of wisdom, full of light --- Where one can become connected in harmony with nature and Self  ~ learning the deep truths of our existence through meditation ~

As da great Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, said about meditation:

~ "Breathing In, I calm my body, Breathing Out, I Smile

Dwelling in the present moment,

I know this is a wonderful moment" ~

OOO! - and here is da link of da visitor from here (Noo Yawk!) -- from where u quoted's Coralinni! ~ Her story is quite fascinating....and deeply inspiring -- showin' da true power of Self-Realization n' Meditation ~ How one can become transformed and become more loving, more compassionate, more accepting, and more open to life's events ~

Oh this is great Yannaki that you gave the website link to Kim's story of her Yogananda retreat experience! ~ She is from Long Island N.Y.in your neck of the woods too ~

She is one of so many different stories of how the retreat touched her life - but I really love her personal story and wonderful pictures ~ I could tell by reading her account of her stay that she wrote about her experience with great honesty and sincerity from her heart - including the good and the bad but overall it seems she was deeply moved by the ashram environment and the Yogananda's spirit ~

That is why I included her quote at the end of my blog - Such an uplifting message that she feels life is wonderful and she will have a great life! ~ Blessings!
