My review of Johannes' new dvd ~ Live!

Well, after a week long out of town work assignment ...I finally returned home and picked up my reserved copy of Johannes' new dvd "Live" at my local Barnes and Noble book store today! ~

The DVD and CD features the great artistry of four of the Gemini Sun artists, Nicholas Gunn (president of Gemini Sun), Loren Gold, David Arkenstone in addition to Johannes Linstead's tremendous talent ~

This concert brings back all the memories and magic of that special night of Johannes's California concert ~ Pure magic, enchantment and joy Johannes ~ Bravo!! ~

This DVD truly displays the great gift/talent of all of these artists ~ I also loved the creativity and design that Dream Images added throughout this special presentation ~

The interviews between songs were wonderful additions to the background of the songs and I felt brought us an even closer connection to the spirit of each of the artists ~

There are too many favorite songs by all the artists for me to mention them all ~ Also I loved the band and especially Jesus Florido on violin ~

(I checked closely to see if I was filmed in the audience but did not see me or Yannaki - We were sitting in the fourth row up but even if you do not see us ...I think you can hear us! lol !! There is one point where Johannes asked the audience if there are any Greeks here tonight and Yannaki gives Johannes an "opa!" ..I think Johannes even says that Greek dude! hahaa ~ )

Johannes playing Djunga (with guitar on fire!) with all the Gemini Sun artists was awesome as the final song of this very special and magical evening ~ Beautiful !! ~

Magical Moment In Time ~

One Word: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

After viewin' my own copy of da brand new DVD today's (w/ mi mamma!! - yay!) -- I have been left with such an awesome feeling of joy n' light within  -- Just as Coralinni beautifully says it: Exquisite!!!

Watchin' it brought all da magic n' excitement all over again -- from that beautiful magical night -- Memories &  sacred moments that will forever be locked in my heart  --- Each and every song, masterpieces in their own right, spoke directly to the soul --- set into musical motion by 4 of da world greatest storytellers through music -- Arkenstone, Gold, Gunn, and Johannito! --- YAAAAAH YAHHHHH!!

I was wowed by how da whole production came out so nicely --- Great Visuals and a well-mixed n' balanced audio track synched to da video (ThumBz uP!) --- AWESOME JOB!!! -- capturin' every single detail, just as I remember it!! :D ---- and great insightful interviews as well! -- Looking deeper into da mystique of da musician ~ and how they do's it their way!  ~ And as Joh sayz towards da end ~ "It's a whole new energy" - performin' with new muzik-dudes for da first time (I agree!....IT ROOOOOOCKS!!! A Great Vibe!!) --- Spontaneity iz so wonderful!! ~

And everyone had their chance to shine --- includin' Jesus n' bassist Paul Gustavo (Dat dude iz fun-krazzy! - lol!) -- Hands Down!

 

OOO! -- like Coralinni mentioned - I too checked reeal closely (w/ magnifyin' glass!) n' me don't see us either's!! --- (one of da cameras even came close to bonkin' da back of my head too's! - hehe).......but i tink our cheers n' oorahs were there tho! ---- I heard me's at certain points goin' " Oo Yeeee-uH!" -- all kool-soundin! -- hahaha......And DOH!! -- I do remember's when just before Joh's Mediterranean-inspired tune "Ambrosia" started.......In response to Johannito's question above.....I yelled out "OPA!!!!" -- and  "YASSOU LEVENDI!!" -- a very common Greekie interjection durin' wild spirited dances (o horos) - esp. to Rembetiko songs ~ (JOH!! --- DAT WUZ ME MAAAN!! - lol).....I even danced a short "syrtaki" greekie dance too but dat's not on da DVD either -- hehe --

 

But i will never forget dat beautiful moment in time ---- Pure Joy n' Magic --- Thanks to all da kool dudes at Gemini Sun for "illuminating us all with their music" ~ "AXIOS! AXIOS!" ~

I listened to the cd at work today again , and i was trying to catch your "OPA!!" but couldn't hear it, then then Johannes mentioned that somebody said it :) How fun!! i didn't know you and Coralina were at the show... awesome!! i wish i would have been there! Great DVD and CD!!! I love the music!!

EY CHICCAAA!!! - sooo great to hear's from u's again! - ESP. ON HERE!! (BIG SMILIES) :D :D :D :D :D

 

OOO YAH! --- wished u wuz there too! --- kuz it wuz one heck of a party!! --- After da show i wuz all wired up n' hardly got any sleep ~ da emotions were high n' couldn't get all da tunes outta my head for days! -- Tryin' to remember exactly how da tunes sounded like live again's (AAAH!! DAT'S HOW IT WENT!!" - me said'z after seein da DVD) -- It wuz sumthin else!!

HAHAHAAA!! -- i wuz like da only one dat yelled "OPA!!" there -- (suprisingly's, i heard there's supposed to be a good number of "Mediterraneos" around SOCAL!" -- ahhh it wuz fun!! ~ Definitely felt da magical "Kefi" when Joh played "Ambrosia"  -- a slightly diff. version from da original dat sounded sweet! (i luv stuff Live!!) --- but it was so nice.....it made me feel da joy n' light deep inside ~ YEA! YEA!
