Nice
I can't express enough how elated I am that people all over the world are banding together for a cause. I'm not judging China's occupation of Tibet as being right or wrong, but it's so refreshing to see people standing up for something. I think this is a good sign that changes are afoot. Hopefully the world is getting sick and tired of government control and will continue to remind them that they represent the people and are there to protect freedoms - not take them away.
human rights
I feel your observation, Sevara, brings to light the very essence and tremendous importance and significance of these signs of protest ~
It shows that people DO care about government abuse of human rights and perhaps events in Tibet can be used as an example for the boarder picture that it is not acceptable for any government (not just China) to abuse the dignity and human rights of the people they are responsible for protecting ~
Bravo Sevara - for the clarity you bring to this issue with your global, compassionate observations!
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Awesome response n' great observation of da recent protests for Tibet's struggle for human rights Sevara! - Coralinni said it best, "Bravo Sevara!!" -
I too been keepin' on top of da protests dat are still continuin' right now's - with things becomin' more and more intense -- especially w/ da upcomin' Olympics bein' hosted by China (Beijing) -- it's definitely settin' up a firestorm for people -- as shown by those protesters who are goin' to extreme measures to get their point across ~ Includin' da three protesters who climbed all da way to da top of da golden gate bridge to put up their banners -- (THOSE DUDES GOT SOME GUTZ YO!) -- and now we also hear, how da olympic torch's original path had to be detoured in SF (Da only American stop along da journey) ~
While it makes me sad to see such unrest goin' on -- as Sevara says.....it's such a great thing to see people unitin' together for an important cause --- for persistence.....while not happenin' overnight - will eventually make things happen for da better........raisin' awareness of such things dat need resolve in our world.......especially when it comes to a fundamental thing such as Peace and Freedom -
Also, with da Olympics bein' an important issue on da whole Tibetan protests.....there are those who are in favor of boycotting the Summer Olympics -- for da Chinese govt's history of Human Rights violations and abuses.....and desecratin' all what da Olympics originally stands for........which for me - is something very very deep-felt in da heart ~
Recently, I had a moment of reflection while lookin' back at some videos of da unforgettable 2004 Olympics held in Athens, Greece --- and lookin' back.....made me shed a tear -- not only for it was such a beautiful homecoming for da Olympics - after all those years - ("Dimokratia ti Elladha" -The Birthland of da games) - and a tribute (felt by all those who share da hellenic heritage).......but more importantly.......it was a beautiful and sacred tribute to all humanity.....regardless of race, faith, or ethnicity.........da original message being of World Unity and a Togetherness.....All nations uniting for one special event......celebrating every color of da rainbow -- representin' da freedom n' pursuit of Peace, Love and Joy we all long for - all those inalienable blessings given to us by the Divine -- and our sacred connection among each other and da cosmos.........Plus all da events, great milestones accomplished in humanity's history over the millenia ~
One of the most powerful...and touching scenes was during the Athens 2004 Opening ceremony.......when the stadium was lit at night......with everyone holding candles.....and a beautiful backdrop created a simulation of da night sky......bringing such a divine mystical aura in da stadium - an ethereal fantasy-like setting.......(similar to what my dream visions see at night....) - and then several beautiful dudettes dressed as Angels....gazin' up at da simulated night sky....walking among da stars.....the stars sparkle and twinkle so brightly........and then form a Double-Helix in the sky......representin' our DNA's genetic structure and da sacred inseparable bond between us and the Divine Cosmos.......our long-forgotten heritage ~ Humanity's first attempt to understand his/her true origins ~
When i saw this beautiful scene.......my heart flodded with emotion -- tears of joy........
Da original message of da Olympics can't be forgotten......I continue to hold onto that hope.....for a peaceful loving world.......that we may all hold hands in brotherly love.........One Day ~
~ Peace, Love, Joy ~
Olympics
What a great reminder, Yannaki, of the spirit of the Olympics and its origin in Greece ~ The opening ceremony in 2004 with everyone holding candles in the night sky was an emotional moment of universal unity and a vision of what the world "could" be - global unity and love ~
The stage for the summer Olympics in Beijing has also set the stage for the people to voice their opinion about the abuse of human rights ... As the Olympic torch travels around the world to its host city - so does the protests ~
Peace, One World, Love All ~
