Sharks are amazing creatures that date back before the dinosaur and no wonder that the public has a fascination for them~

The fact that this news story happened right here at the beaches I grew up playing in and currently take my weekend walks along its shores ...affected me deeply - a much more personal perspective than someone reading it from a distance as a news story~

Today, Yannaki, there were surfers out in the water at their own risk - Scientist stated that it is possible the shark could still be in our local waters ..Their warnings are not feeding fear into the community but instead feeding caution to the public ...they are only concerned about our safety ~ I commend our beach patrols that have looked at the situation with level heads and common sense procedures in force ~ Soon I feel everything will be back to normal but with a wise note of caution in the public's consciousness when swimming beyond the waves ...of the event that happened yesterday ~ Again ..sending my prayers for the victim and his loved ones ~
